This refers not to things like charity but to interpersonal life and to interventions into a group, a friendship, or a community.

I think it's best to aim not to take and not to give but instead to let the course of events wind themselves out naturally.

To possesively take something in a community, whether it be physical, emotional, mental, is to steal something.

To actively give something in a community, in a self possessed way, whether it be physical, emotional, or mental, is to attempt to destroy that community.

Neither is a very good thing to do.

Don't take, even when something is offered to you, and don't give, even when you'd have a perfect chance to.

That's my advice.
