I agree with your comment


Ok, this is going to piss off my anarchist readers, but...

I do admit that parties have a lot of institutional knowledge and that the Bolshevik tradition and the debates within it over policy do have contain a lot of lessons to be learned from, but I also think we shouldn't just stick to the knowledge gained from those things in applying principles. I agree that Marxism can and should be appied creatively, in reference to the real world, but I firmly believe that new ideas and concepts should be incorporated into Marxism to help it become more immediately relevant to reality. I think as well that there needs to be a reevaluation of leftist thought in reference to America specifically and that the American left in general needs to be better informed about the socialist thought that's out there beyond traditional Marxist, Marxist-Leninist, and even the various anarchist strains of thought.
