Monday random complaining: the Clash fucking suck

If London Calling, their "Masterpiece" is any indication.

Bourgeois amphetamine addicts trying to be punks.

London Calling is cited as being innovative because there's a lot of styles on it.

Yes, there're ten styles, or whatever, but the Clash fail at all of them. All of them.

Instead, you have Joe Strummer's mediocre drunken slurring over half assed lyrics and pale white boy imitations of musical styles they don't understand.

Notable because they're one of the only bands to write something about the Spanish Revolution.

But "Spanish bombs in Andalucia..." sounds like a '60s girl band rendition of a Spanish Civil war type song.

Designed to appeal to people who have correspondingly superficial interests in the things that the Clash was interested in, namely, middle class youth.

uh..yeah...OK

it's just...a great sounding, fun, exuberant, tunr of the decade record. Easy to slag now--- but at the time it took a LOT of chances for a band thought of as "punk " and ONLY thought of as "punk". Now everyone skips thru the style on many albums...it was rare then. Brilliant LP, cassette and CD, and i've owned it in all formats, incl the 2-CD reissue!! So there.

Too bad you are the only one thinking that. How can you eve say something like that. London Calling is one of the best records of the century! Joe slurring gives a special touch to it and the styles )which they do know about) are really special. What you have written here is completely without a real base an meaning.
